First of 2 90mm jet drives for a boat I'm building. California Filaments PETG prints beautifully!
So after 100+ rolls of the black, I've got to say it is one of the most consistent printing petg's I've used at this price range. 235 nozzle, and 80-85 bed and it prints clean across my entire fleet. Rarely any excessive strings, feeds nice, is wound clean and just is a push print and walk away type filament.
My first PETG print. Very happy!
Lays down ok we see how the print comes out
Basic black, prints well with minimal PETG stringing.
This is the best petg I've tried. It's well packaged and comes out of the package dry and ready to print unlike some other companies I've tried. I make everything from large parts to precision parts with the black and I like the gloss
We've used several rolls of black PETG from a California Filament. Very happy with the quality and excited to try out other colors soon.
The filament works fine with the da vinci mini w and using " Smart tag" that i was able to purchase fom XYZ. However the reel that the filament came with is larger than the reel holder on this type printer. If you want more information just let me know. I was able to set up a roll feeder below the 3d printer and use XYZ reel on the reel holder and just by passed the XYZ reel and feed the printer from your reel. I'm happy the system setup works very well.
Just got turned onto California Filament and so far I am loving the quality!
Love it. I found this company about a month ago, and have already gone through roughly 50 spools of filament of various colors, mainly black. I usually print my PETG hot 270c, but this filament does not like that. Stick to the recommended temp and you'll be golden.
Prints beautifully and the price is excellent.
Real nice, got it as my first ever roll of filament and, to be honest, the free shipping was used as the tiebreaker. But the prints have been very nice and the shiny surface is looks really cool. A great value for the money, I'll certainly be back for more colors after I've calibrated my machine better.
I go through a lot of black petg, and since I don't like to raise my prices to my clients, my other option is lowering cost of material. Bought a case of black petg, and it ran perfectly fine in my fleet of 20+ machines. Will be looking for it to come back in stock!
The filament has been reliable and consistent. I use a temperature of 255 deg. C with 70 deg. PEI bed temperature. Print cooling is used to reduce stringing. The picture shows three covers and a duct base with heavy heatsink (over 8" in width) printed on an FLSun Cube 3D FDM printer with extensive modifications in bearings, hotend (switched to a Ceality Mk8 hotend with custom designed and printed mount bearing plate with integral mounts and mount for a front-facing proximity sensor (to be changed to BL Touch), integrated hotend cooling system that also cools the sensor, and integral print cooling, providing a compact and solid hotend. All plastic parts were printed with black California Filament. This will be my place to go for all my filament unless there is a special color they don't have, mainly pure white and translucent magenta, which works well with their translucent blue. I'm sure they will get it in the future. I especially like the fact they send a few swatches of other color filaments that show the quality and printability - and supply the swatch.stl file so you can test your own print quality against their sample. Good job California Filaments.
