Now this red is a bit odd. It prints awesome as always but it’s kinda like a transparent candy color? Sorta reminds me of Cough drops.. lol. Added a pic with Cali Petg blue and Cali Petg fluorescent orange for some contrast. Prints great tho. Can’t complain on that aspect. Nice crisp overhangs etc. Layer height 0.24 Outer wall 50 Inner wall 100 Temp 240 Bed 70 (Bambu gold textured bed) Printed 5 spools of this stuff in like 4 days with amazing results!
California Filament has quickly become my #1 go to filament brand. It's exceptionally easy to print using the stock Generic PETG setting in Bambu Studio/Orca Slicer. It has exceptional strength and it looks absolutely beautiful. Recently got an AMS and I used this filament to print a bigger Poop Chute, since the AMS has a lot of filament waste on multicolor prints. Only thing is I got the cardboard spools, so had to print external rim adapters, but after that they work great with the AMS. That issue shouldn't be one for very long though, since CF is moving back to Plastic spools to better support AMS.
I love this filament. So after upgrading the hotend on my printer I decided to enter the world of PETG printing. California Filament is the first brand of PETG that I have purchased and after a couple days of learning the nuances of using this material I don't know if I will ever use PLA again. First thing I learned is that my z offset needs to be higher than what I was used to. For PLA I would set it to 0.10mm. I have found that 0.16mm is the best for PETG. I have also had good luck with using supports. I do not us an interface and I set the top distance to .28mm. With regards to the color itself I like it. It fits into what I think of when I picture the color red. It definitely has that red jellybean like shine and color. This will be my go to for when I need the color red. I’ve had great experience with California filament PETG. It prints easily and is very strong.
Filament has a size issue. it is very inconsistent with its diameter. it woulds have a portion that was to wide that it would get caught in the the tube in the hot end. which in turn will cause the print to fail. 3 failed prints from 3 hours in to 45 minutes in. also have to disassemble the extruder to get the filament out.
This is the filament I have been looking for. Actually bought for a client and I’m gonna be purchasing more for my own builds! Strong smooth printing at 0.02mm. Good plate adhesion and the candy red really pops!
The candy red filament is bright, glossy and has a sheen like that of smooth sugar. It prints great on my 0.6mm nozzle Prusa. Great filament, highly recommend!

Just getting this dialed in. Actually it’s coming out surprisingly well at a decent speed for PETG, using a .6mm nozzle.

I've had trouble with a few brands of PLA recently (some brands print beautifully, some require significant tweaking), so I decided to try the PETG from CA FIlament. I only adjusted the nozzle temp to 230 and bed temp to 85, resliced the part, and it printed beautifully with the PETG. I'm running an FLSun V400 with no enclosure, and I couldn't be happier with this filament. Thanks!

Nothing bad to say at all about the filament. Been using it ever since I found about California Filament on my X1C. Stopped using PLA in favor of PETG.
I really enjoy printing with this filament! I would love to give it 4-5 stars instead of 3 but the color is much more transparent than I expected when printing it. Though it’s not a “translucent” red it is almost a cross between some of the “translucent” filaments and a standard red. I am using this to do multi color prints and needed to change around my slicing to add an extra white layer below the red. Other than this issue the filament has been printing great for me with slightly more stringing than some other filaments I’m used to.
